ArtKeeper

At HOTA, we love artists and we know we can’t be a Home of the Arts without them.

So in 2021 we piloted a new way to support them to keep creating the art we all needed - enter, ArtKeeper. Originally a response to the pandemic, this now nationally recognised model of artist support, placed four artists annually on HOTA’s payroll, providing income security, fair work conditions and organisation-wide support to develop new work and ideas.

Three years and 13 artists on, our award-winning ArtKeeper residency program has now come to a close. But stay tuned, there’s an exciting new opportunity for artists coming from Experience Gold Coast shortly!

HOTA proudly acknowledges the Traditional Custodians of the land on which we are situated, the Kombumerri families of the Yugambeh Language Region.
