#MOTION | YOUTH ARTS INITIATIVE PILOT

Are you a teen in year 10, 11, or 12 who has a resounding passion for visual arts and would love to connect with like-minded youth, artists and industry leaders? HOTA Gallery is proud to introduce MOTION, a networking and mentoring program for youth to explore and grow their love of visual arts.

Over four inspiring sessions, our fabulous line up local artists and tertiary teachers will take you through a program that is as equally social, as it is educational and creative. Covering a range of concepts, while also having the space to work on your own projects, MOTION is the prefect opportunity to feel supported in your artistic passions among a community of creative peers.

In our pilot offering of this program, places are free, but strictly limited. Conditions apply. Please read these before securing your place and we look forward to having you there.

Session Dates & Times
Please note, you will need to be able to commit to attending all sessions.

Sessions take place on the first Monday of the month between Jul and Nov 2023. All materials are provided, however, if you wish to bring a visual art journal or other artmaking resources.

#ENERGIES 2023

For more than 30 years, ENERGIES has provided a platform for local senior secondary visual art students to exhibit their work in a professional gallery setting. ENERGIES alumni boasts acclaimed contemporary artists Michael Candy, Abbey McCulloch, Rebecca Ross and Michael Zavros.

Presented in partnership with Gold Coast Visual Arts educators and in consultation with our HOTA Gallery and Visual Arts Education Reference Group artworks are selected from Gold Coast students based on individual merit and skill.

ENERGIES showcases exemplary student work, best practice for teaching, and supports career pathways and further study into the arts.

The next iteration of ENERGIES will take place over nine weeks, and we're so excited to welcome the next crop of emerging artists centre stage in HOTA Gallery.
