For Students
#Student Support Acts
What do Silverchair, Billie Eilish and Stevie Wonder have in common? They all started young…
HOTA is passionate about supporting our next generation of Gold Coast creatives, starting with the raw talent we have in our GC schools.
We're opening a support spot once a month at our popular Fridays on the Lawn series to expose our talented GC music students to a ready audience. This provides a great opportunity for mentorship with the musician featured on the day.
The opportunity exists for teachers to nominate students who are ready to take their musicianship to the next stage. Fridays on the Lawn is a regular free event at HOTA featuring local musicians, and we're looking for talented teens to step in as the support act once a month.
These young artists must have existing performance capability and have a contemporary set list ready to go. Please read the guidelines document here and have all supporting documentation ready prior to submitting the EOI form.
Not sure if this is the right fit? Pop down to a Fridays on the Lawn session for a look, or reach out to our education team for more information education@hota.com.au

#ENERGIES 2023
For more than 30 years, ENERGIES has provided a platform for local senior secondary visual art students to exhibit their work in a professional gallery setting. ENERGIES alumni boasts acclaimed contemporary artists Michael Candy, Abbey McCulloch, Rebecca Ross and Michael Zavros.
Presented in partnership with Gold Coast Visual Arts educators and in consultation with our HOTA Gallery and Visual Arts Education Reference Group artworks are selected from Gold Coast students based on individual merit and skill.
ENERGIES showcases exemplary student work, best practice for teaching, and supports career pathways and further study into the arts.
The next iteration of ENERGIES will take place over nine weeks, and we're so excited to welcome the next crop of emerging artists centre stage in HOTA Gallery.
