We’re thrilled to relaunch the reimagined Fridays on the Lawn – Student Edition! This exciting event highlights the talents of local student solo acts, bands, and DJs, offering a dynamic platform for young musicians to shine.
Set in a lively and supportive environment, the event nurtures creativity, collaboration, and community connection. It’s an incredible opportunity for budding artists to gain real-world performance experience, guided by HOTA’s professional staff, while showcasing their skills in a premier arts industry space.

#Application and Audition Process
1. Registration Form
- Teachers are required to complete the registration form on behalf of their student performers.
- A separate form must be submitted for each band or solo performer—forms cannot be combined.
- Each application must include a filmed audition showcasing the band or solo performer.
2. Key Dates
- Applications close: Fri 27 Jun 2025
- Successful applicants notified: Fri 25 Jul 2025
HOTA will provide
- 1 x Audio Technician
- Stage Dimensions:
- Width: 4.8 meters
- Depth: 3.6 meters
- PA System
- 2 x Microphones
#School and Student Requirements
Recommended Year Levels: Students in Years 7–12 are eligible to participate.
Registration: All student performers must be registered by their school’s music or arts teacher.
Supervision: Teachers must supervise student performers and are responsible for their safety and well-being for the duration of the event.
Assistance: Teachers are responsible for assisting students with setup and pack down for their performance set.
Equipment: Schools and students must supply their own instruments, including a drumkit, keyboard, keyboard amplifier, and guitar/bass amplifiers, appropriate leads and cables, and music stands.
Performance Duration: Durations of 15, 30, or 45-minute sets are available. Sets will be curated by the Education Producer to enhance the experience for both performers and the audience.
Additional Support:
To help streamline the event and ensure its smooth operation, we invite participating schools that can provide a drum kit, keyboard, keyboard amplifier, guitar and bass amplifiers for the duration of the event to contact the Education Producer: education@hota.com.au
Schools providing the setup will be acknowledged as co-sponsors during the event by the Education Producer.

Presenting and Performing
Rehearse, refine, and present music they have learned or composed, demonstrating relevant vocal and/or instrumental techniques and performance skills.
