February Sunroom | Uncover to Discover

Sunroom is about providing a safe creative space for art making, creative play and exploration for adults who identify with disability.

We believe in the social model of disability - that is, disability is the result of the interaction between people living with impairments and an environment filled with physical, attitudinal, communication and social barriers. (Sourced from PWD)

No prior art making experience is necessary, only a willingness to engage your imagination, curiosity and sense of play.

February

In this workshop we will look at an approach taken by Gold Coast based artist Lyle Duncan, one of the featured artists in Here and Now: Gold Coast Triennial.

Lyle is interested in meaning contained in everyday objects and has been looking at what ideas emerge through the process of removal, resulting in transparent sign sculptures for his Gold Coast Triennial work.

In this workshop we will experiment layering various transparent and semi-transparent materials to explore how different combinations change the mood and meaning of a work.
