Compendium of Adventure

Two seasoned adventurers, driven by curiosity and a passion for Reptiles, set out to investigate mysterious sightings of a group known only as the Night Walkers. Rumors suggest these figures have gathered here on the gold coast traveling from distant lands with a shared purpose tied to the preservation of endangered reptiles specifically FROGS.  

Recognizing the journey ahead will be too complex alone, the adventurers recruit a group of young helpers. Each helper is given a “passport,” their photo is taken, and they are welcomed as official members of the expedition. First the group needs to be educated, sharing what they know about reptiles at risk of extinction, the significance of biodiversity, and the possible identities and customs of the Night Walkers.  

The only clue, A riddle believed to reveal the exact location of their gathering.  

Working together, the riddle is solved and the location discovered. The team finds their way to the night walkers and are invited to participate in the activity of the day: an artistic project designed to raise awareness about endangered reptile species.

Saturday 19th: FANTASY MAP MAKING Artist, Sophie Kent  

Create a magical map of a fantasy world! Design habitats, landmarks, pathways, and hidden locations using blank paper or start from a template. With step-by-step guidance and drawing prompts, participants can build their own imaginative world and bring their adventure to life!  

Tuesday 22nd : FANTASY MAP MAKING: Artist, Sophie Kent

Wednesday 23rd: ILLUSTRATIONS Artist, Sophie Kent  

Listen, imagine, and create! Inspired by Five Little Speckled Frogs, participants will create their own frog-themed illustrations using templates or blank paper. There will be step-by-step guidance and plenty of room for creativity for those that wish to interpret the story in their own way!

Learn how to drum with Rhythms of the World in this interactive workshop sitting side by side with a larger-than-life leaf folding frog from Kenya  

Thursday 24th 11:00 & 1:00 FROG SCULPTURES Artist, Sam Gowing  

Can you create your own frog sculpture. Take some inspiration from the night walkers and let your imagination soar  

Friday 25th TRADING CARDS Artist, Sophie Kent

Design, colour, and create your own dinosaur trading cards! Use templates or create your own prehistoric reptile trading card from scratch, then customise it with names, stats, and special features. Who will make the most powerful card?
