$100,000 commission for local artists

ANNOUNCEMENT: The recipients of the HOTA Gallery Artist Open Call have been revealed!

We love nothing more than supporting and showcasing Gold Coast artists at HOTA. They’re the lifeblood of everything we stand for and the reason we get out of bed.

Over the last two months our quick-fire local artist fund, Rage Against the V(irus), has helped more than 40 local artists. Not only has this project been another great reminder of the creative talent that we’re hugely fortunate to nurture and support, but it the community support for these projects that have reminded us what great company we all keep.

And we’re now fast-tracking the next stage of support for Gold Coast artists with a new $100,000 commissioning opportunity that will see up to 20 Gold Coast artists receive $5,000 each to create a body of work for an exhibition.

Selected artists will see their work in the main exhibition space in the HOTA Gallery and we also want to hear from artists who might want to present some or all of their work in the parklands.

We’re looking for artists who are ambitious and locally engaged but globally aware. Work that is generous and curious from artists that, like us, believe that art has the power to unite, disrupt and engage.

This is an incredible opportunity to see your work in the new HOTA Gallery and we can’t wait to put Gold Coast artists in the spotlight.
