Natalie will focus on stories related to artists and sitters from southern Queensland, both in the Archie 100 exhibition itself and the Archibald Prize more broadly.

#Artist Bio
Natalie Wilson is Curator of Australian art at the Art Gallery of New South Wales, where she has worked since 1998. Natalie holds an MA (Art History & Theory) from the University of Sydney.
She has curated numerous collection-based exhibitions at the Gallery and authored essays, papers, and books on Australian & Pacific art. Wilson was awarded the 2010 Art Society of NSW Staff Scholarship to conduct research in Papua New Guinea, and the 2012 AGNSW Moya Dyring Studio Residency at the Cité Internationale des Arts in Paris, studying Pacific art in European collection.
Exhibitions she has curated include: Justin O’Brien: The Sacred Music of Colour (co-curator, 2010), Peter Rushforth: All Fired Up (SH Ervin Gallery 2013), Plumes and Pearlshells: Art of the New Guinea Highlands (2014), Painter in Paradise: William Dobell in New Guinea (SH Ervin Gallery and touring, 2015–16), Archibald, Wynne and Sulman Prizes (2016). Following a journey to the Sepik River in PNG in August 2018, Wilson curated Melanesian Art: Redux (2018). She co-curated the National Library of Australia and Art Gallery of NSW partnered exhibition A Nation Imagined: The Artists of the Picturesque Atlas, held at the NLA in 2021. Wilson curated Archie 100: A Century of the Archibald Prize, opening and the Gallery in June 2021 and currently touring national, state, and regional galleries until January 2024. She featured in the 2021 three-part series Finding the Archibald, produced by Mint Pictures and screened on ABC-TV and iView.
