Queensland Ballet and HOTA exclusive seasons

Queensland Ballet’s Artistic Director Li Cunxin said this about the partnership:

‘After such a positive reception from our Giselle season in 2020, Queensland Ballet and HOTA have harnessed our chemistry, and I am beyond excited to announce that both seasons at HOTA in 2022 will be exclusive to the Gold Coast: The Sleeping Beauty in February and Moonlight Ballet - Rooster/B-Sides in November.’

The Sleeping Beauty is QB’s exquisite box-office breaking fairytale that weaves the magic of true love’s kiss throughout HOTA 25-26 Feb.

Greg Horsman’s two-act retelling of the classic story will sweep you away to a land of enchanted forests, kings and queens, and charismatic creatures that creep, crawl, flit and flutter.

Then, 10-12 Nov we present Moonlight Ballet, in an explosion of music, colour, and rock’n’roll swagger under the stars, inspired by the swinging 60s.

The double bill features Christopher Bruce’s ode to The Rolling Stones, Rooster, Jack Lister’s B-Sides, and a special behind-the-scenes experience as the company get ready to groove and warm-up in an open rehearsal on the HOTA Outdoor Stage.

With food trucks, and a fully licensed Concert Lawn, and seamless contemporary choreography, this incredible experience is a highlight of the Gold Coast cultural calendar, and will have audiences bopping along on their picnic rugs and dancing out of their seats.

Tickets are available from this Friday 1 October, when HOTA Members get first access during an exclusive presale period.
