Pacific Centre for Photographic Arts

Artist in Residence Oct 10-23

This October, coinciding with our major exhibition, the Josephine Ulrick and Win Schubert Photography Award, we’re collaborating with The Pacific Centre for Photographic Art (PCPA) – Sean Davey and Aishah Kenton - to spend two weeks as HOTA’s Artists in Residence creating photography workshops and community storytelling projects.

Home, identity, and belonging can be crafted, captured and shared through the lens of contemporary photographic practice.

PCPA will be hosting a fortnight of photography workshops and art talks! Pop into our photography studio and take part in the artmaking. With experiences for all ages and abilities you can learn some camera skills, share your story, or simply get your photo taken. Create a small artistic reflection on what home means to you, get your photograph taken, and also learn how to compose your own personal stories, mementos and images.

Pacific Centre for Photographic Arts (PCPA) (founded in 2021) facilitates positive and practical experiences in the Arts for people in regional, rural, and remote areas of Australia and the Pacific.

The team advocate for inclusive, participatory workshops that encourage personal expression through photography education.

PCPA delivers practical, outcome focused experiences that are both educational and enjoyable, giving participants the opportunity to express themselves and their environment though the arts.
