From the realms of self-isolation and with some support from us at HOTA, Lovestreet Studios created From Little Things - a short series of podcasts made to keep us connected to some of our most loved and most talented Gold Coast musicians. In a time where the world was forced to slow down, our need for great music and connection was more apparent than ever.
For most of musical history, we have connected with our favourite musicians through liner notes and stories hidden within an LP cover or CD case. We moved so quickly into the digital realm to ‘consume’ music and somewhere on the way, we lost our deeper connection to the people behind the music.
From Little Things brings to you these conversations that we’ve never had with our favourite musicians, taking you on a journey through their making and how they came to be where they are today, stories sprinkled with live performances of their own songs.
From Little Things was supported by HOTA, Home of the Arts through HOTA’s Artist Fund: Rage against the V(irus).

Karl S. WilliamsKarl S. Williams emerged from the cane country of Northern New South Wales, steeped in swamp water and primitive music. His songs are a distillation of life, love and the human condition; a kind of folk, soul, blues but not as you know it. With a weaponised voice that can soar, moan and ache with the best of them, he writes timeless music, rooted in tradition but also firmly conversant with the present.
Bobby AluAmidst smooth harmonies, rhythms inspired by a strong family lineage of Polynesian performance, and unassuming grooves that work a gradual, smile- inducing high through even a casual listener, Bobby Alu tunes have a way of sneaking into the subconscious and taking up residence. Alongside multi-instrumentalist tour buddy and ARIA Award winning Producer, Paul Bromley, he has a collection of 4 albums/EPs to his name and a long list of successful international tours with much loved artists such as Xavier Rudd, John Butler and Trevor Hall (USA).
