Movement of the Human, Directed by Malia Johnston

Tōrua brings together 9 incredible independent Dance artists from Across Aotearoa and Australia under the guidance of celebrated Choreographer and Director Malia Johnston from Aotearoa - New Zealand.

Follow inspirational dance luminaries; Sefa Tunupopo, Isabella Estrella, Jag Popham, Kia Jewell, Andre Busby-Quinlan, Bella Hood, Cam Holland, Tiana Pinnell and Mckenna Jayde - as they present their movement responses to the Landscape and Terrain across various sections of the HOTA precinct.

Music specifically designed for Tōrua has been composed by Anna Edgington of Wellington and Eden Mulholland (Ngāti Porou) of Brisbane. You'll be able to listen to their work via headsets provided to you at the beginning of the performance. Please head to the HOTA Foyer 15 minutes prior to the performance to pick up your headset for this immersive performance and receive instructions on how to use your headset. The performance will begin outside the HOTA Foyer and finish near the HOTA Bridge.

Movement Of The Human is a Performing arts company from Aotearoa New Zealand, who create exciting and cutting edge contemporary performances, led by celebrated Choreographer Malia Johnston. 

Bring your walking shoes - the performance is roughly 50 minutes in length.
