RIFT

RIFT is a short, sweet-and-sour dance work reflecting on the impact we all have on the world around us. We are mirrors of each other - shifting, growing, and learning through every connection we make, all in search of love and acceptance. Dedicated to young women finding their place, RIFT explores the complexities of growing up - a grotesque fight for perfection, a vicious plea for help, and the raw silence of knowing only you can save yourself. The story follows two girls, Sereen and Lila, as they navigate identity, connection, and personal transformation through striking and expressive choreography. Created and produced by Australian Youth Arts Productions Director Rebekah Jensen and showcasing intensely thought-provoking choreography from Larissa Procter and Carissa Brant; RIFT is a powerful coming-of-age performance. It reminds us that, despite our differences, it’s the gaps between us that bring us closer.
