Be captivated by this charming comedic ballet set in a picturesque countryside. The title translates to “The Wayward Daughter”, and this ballet is a much loved classic in the ballet world. The story follows a young maiden named Lise as she navigates the whims of her mother, the Widow Simone, who is determined to find a suitable match for her daughter. However, Lise’s heart belongs to Colas, a handsome young farmer. Their love is tested by the arrival of Alain, the wealthy yet clumsy suitor chose by the Widow Simone. Filled with humour, romance, barnyard animals, and delightful characterisations, “La Fille Mal Gardée” is a celebration of love, freedom, and the joy of rural life. With lively choreography and an endearing storyline, this classic ballet continues to enchant audiences all around the world!
