RunNation Film Festival 2024

2024 marks the tenth year of the RunNation Film Festival. The festival is an original, inspiring event attended by running celebrities, thousands of runners and non-runners around Australia, New Zealand & many parts of the world. We receive film submissions from Australia & across the globe and curate them into an incredible two-hour screening. It is not just about running; It is about celebrating the human spirit, using running as a storytelling medium.

Project Impossible
Film maker: William Corlett

18-year-old Aussie Larrikin, William Corlett, takes on a colossal challenge. To run 200km in 24hrs, the length of Tasmania! Running from Launceston to Hobart driven to raise $200,000 for Lifeline Australia. Raising awareness for the crisis support service.

With relentless support from his 3 red P wielding mates, they embark on a mission self determined IMPOSSIBLE.

Project Impossible is a heart pounding story, showcasing the spirit of young Australians, the power of comradery, & the limitless potential of human determination.

The Alpine Run Project
Film maker: Alex Harris-MacDuff

Prominent cast: John McAvoy

Locations: UK and France, Switzerland, Italy (UTMB race)

12 young athletes changing the world, here to defy the odds and show that nothing is Impossible.

Only 43% of young people in inner cities complete the weekly recommendation of physical activity. This is reflected in the sport of trail running which is still largely the domain of middle-class white men. By 2027 the Alpine Run Project with John McAvoy, Nike, JD Sports and YBB will help 100,000 young people from diverse backgrounds in cities across Europe take part in trail running. By doing so this year, these 12 runners are part of a movement that will change the face of sport.

From city streets to the epic alpine trail race at UTMB, this documentary captures their emotive and powerful journey, to inspire change.

Film maker: David Byrne

Footprints, a trail run film exploring the unique environment of the Ningaloo Coast, featuring The North Face athletes David Byrne & Blake Hose, will be touring around Australia throughout March, April & May.
Join in for a social run, film screening and chat with the athletes – find an event near you at the link in our bio. Proceeds from tickets will be going to Protect Ningaloo, to support the conservation of the Ningaloo Reef and Cape Range.
