What is HOTA Homegrown?

HOTA Homegrown. You can’t be a home for art without artists.  And we particularly love our homegrown Gold Coast artists and creatives. We believe art thrives when there is collaboration, mentorship and shared ideas.

We’re sharing our home with Gold Coast Film Festival and are working with The Farm and Supercell amongst others. We provide opportunities for artists to meet, collaborate and learn from some of the amazing national and international artists who visit us and we regularly commission work.

Funding is also available to local artists through our annual Creative Development program and in early 2020 our Rage Against the V(irus) fund was a quickfire response to supporting artists during challenging times. We’ve also set up an Artist Pass to make coming to HOTA more affordable for artists.

We offer the freedom, space and time to make something different. And there are more opportunities to come.

Everybody NOW!

A collective of performance makers and producers who create participatory experiences that are both celebratory and playful; working with real people, telling real stories, known for beautifully crafted and engaging works designed to move communities.

HOTA proudly acknowledges the Traditional Custodians of the land on which we are situated, the Kombumerri families of the Yugambeh Language Region. We pay our respects to their Elders past, present and emerging, and recognise their continuing connections to the lands, waters and their extended communities throughout South East Queensland.
