Artist Statement
A bowl of bones combines the imagery of accumulated guilt, the exposure of hidden truth as a bone hidden under skin, and the act of confronting past action. By physical consumption we are also emotionally consumed of dealing with the weight of past issues and the responsibility of addressing them. History is not always easily discarded but remains a persistent, sometimes burdensome, presence.
This photograph is the remains of the making of bone broth. It is a small part of the documentation of work in progress for a larger sculptural installation.
