HOTA Home Company Everybody NOW! Continues to Grow

Today HOTA’s precinct grows a little bigger as another crop of artists make the move into their new office onsite at the cultural hotspot.

Everybody NOW! joined the team of HOTA Home Companies last year and went right to work engaging their community. Already the workspace for multiple artists, HOTA is excited to welcome the creative joy generators to join the family and move into the neighbourhood alongside fellow HOTA Home Company, Gold Coast Film Festival.

'We’re thrilled to officially take up residence at HOTA, deepening our partnership as a Home Company'

said Everybody NOW! Co-Artistic Director and Executive Producer Kate (McDonald) Baggerson.

'A physical office and community workshop space allows us to increase our accessibly to the local community as well as being our hub for generating new works that tour nationally.

'It’s such an exciting time for our company having recently secured multi-year investment from the City of Gold Coast, the Queensland Government through Arts Queensland and the Australian Government, through the Restart Investment to Sustain and Expand (RISE) Fund.

'We passionately believe there could not be a more important time to nurture community-engaged practice in Australia.

With the support of our partners, funders and as a Home Company here at HOTA Home of the Arts, we’re well positioned to boldly realise our purpose - To Move Communities. Working with real people and telling real stories, the team from Everybody NOW! are well known for their beautifully crafted and engaging works that are designed to inspire communities. Their dedication to the creation of arts projects created with, for and by communities, locally on the Gold Coast has inspired many within the organisation.

Following on from our ArtKeeper Program, the initiative launched in 2021 dedicated to bringing four artists onboard the HOTA Payroll, the addition of Everybody NOW! continues HOTA’s dedication to supporting local artists and arts organisations.

HOTA CEO Criena Gehrke said:

‘It’s no secret that we love to work with artists that share our values and vision of the Gold Coast as a true home of creativity, where new work is created, communities are connected through art, and boundaries are always fearlessly pushed.

HOTA, alongside City of Gold Coast, continues to proudly stand by our commitment to artists. Providing job security and much-needed space to work and create is critical for artists and their invaluable contribution to society.’

Overjoyed to be welcoming another HOTA Home Company to the precinct and ready to see what the future holds, be sure to keep up-to-date with all the latest HOTA News and see how you can connect with Everybody NOW!.
