Moira Finucane Moira Finucane is a writer, performer, creator, director, and global cabaret star; internationally renowned for her arresting mix of provocation and entertainment, in unforgettable ‘salons of humanity’ that have toured 18 countries, won 15 awards and acclaim in 13 languages, from Antarctica to London Paris to Tokyo. A bower bird of museums, galleries and live art, she was appointed the Inaugural Creative Fellow of Australia's largest and oldest gallery NGV, is currently international hybrid resident at State Museum of Florida, and has responded to treasured collections from ancient stone statuary of Prague’s Lapidarium to Gustave Mureau and Malmaison in Paris, Munch in Norway and devotional art in Shanghai.
JazidaCabaret lightning rod and burlesque superstar, Jazida is renowned for her rapid fire, electrifying performances stampeding across magic, burlesque, fire-eating, sword dancing and fan twirling. She has astonished audiences across Australia. Voted in the global top 50 of burlesque’s most influential artists, her company Jazida Productions has opened an alternate performance hub in Canberra, Flazéda, which runs packed out classes live and online celebrating the moving beauty of every single body and winning Canberra Local Business Awards for Outstanding Performing Arts.
Sophie KohSophie Koh is a multi-awarded singer, songwriter, poet, pianist, and composer. Born in New Zealand to Malaysian Chinese parents, Sophie spent her early years in Singapore, New Zealand and Darwin. Her latest album of original songs 'Book of Songs’ sees her divert course from pop into the contemporary classical world revisiting her classical piano training and her Chinese ethnicity. Sophie starred in Finucane’s Shanghai MiMi, commissioned by Sydney Festival 2019, and began telling ancestral stories of hope as part of this work. "When people ask me where I’m from, I can’t answer. I say, ‘What do you mean? Where I was born? My ethnicity? Where I live now? Or where my heart is?’”
Piera DennersteinInternationally renowned soprano, grounded by COVID from her touring life in Italy and China; Piera Dennerstein has spent the pandemic putting the disco in her diva. As the live-performance scene in Australia reawakens, Piera has joined the roster of Artist Bookings Agency, become a member of the Victorian Opera Chorus, joined the legendary Finucane & Smith in their triumphant return to the stage for their national tour of the beloved variety show Dance Hall and formalised her cross-over status with Jazz and Blues solo shows as part of Midsumma Festival and at the prestigious Clocktower Centre. 2020 began with Piera securing a place on 3MBS Radio’s The Talentprogramme. She also performed for the second time at the Melbourne Recital Centre for the 3MBS Marathon. Throughout the lockdown, Piera performed regularly in online salons for Finucane & Smith, including in a lineup featuring Australian living legend Paul Kelly. In 2019 Piera performed her first leading role in a grand opera: Adina in GBD Productions’ tour of L’elisir d’amore by Donizetti. The second half of the year was spent engaged with the legendary Finucane & Smith in international performances of The Raptureand The Rapture Chapter II. She continues to perform regularly at corporate events, particularly for Vavachi Productions and Entertainment International.
