We’re activating the HOTA Parklands with screens on the lake broadcasting the event live, with lots of free family entertainment and a delicious assortment of food trucks! 

No tickets required for this area, which opens from 4pm.


Every time you cry, save up all your tears…the Mayor’s Christmas Carols is almost here!

In its twelfth year, City of Gold Coast’s Mayor’s Christmas Carols is being staged at the HOTA Outdoor Stage and HOTA Parklands on Saturday 2 December and you guessed it, will be headlined by none other than HUMAN NATURE!

Supporting our ARIA Hall of Fame headliner, the festive celebration will feature:

  • The Gold Coast’s very own, Lily Grace
  • The Brisbane City Gospel Choir
  • Warner Bros. Movie World’s Looney Tunes Christmas Show
  • Santa & more!

Hosted by 7NEWS Gold Coast presenters Amanda Abate and Steve Titmus and 1029 Hot Tomato’s Emily Jade O’Keeffe and Galey, the evening will commence at 6pm and conclude at 9pm with a fireworks finale that will undoubtedly light up your night!

We’re Tellin’ Everybody to set their alarms, limited free tickets are available for the HOTA Outdoor Stage from 9am Monday 20 November and 9am Tuesday 21 November. Gates open from 4pm. Strict ticket limits apply.

Ride the G, hop on the Hopo Ferry, or make your journey active and walk, ride, scoot or skate to this joyous celebration.

#Ticketing FAQs

  • Limit of 4 Tickets per Transaction   
  • Children under 3 do not require a ticket   
  • First release of tickets will be available Mon 20 Nov 9am (Available until allocation exhausted)   
  • Second Release of Tickets will be available Tue 21 Nov 9am (Available until allocation exhausted)   
  • We anticipate that there will be a high volume of interest in this event, and tickets are limited based on the capacity of the venue. For those unsuccessful in getting tickets, the Parklands around the HOTA Lake will be activated for viewing a live broadcast of the carols on the Big Screen alongside kids activities, food trucks and activations.   
  • The HOTA Lake and Parklands is a Free non-ticketed event.    
  • This is an alcohol free event
