Staying safe at HOTA this weekend

1 Jul 2021

Welcome back

We’re throwing the doors open (again) – and the safety of our visitors, artists and staff, is our top priority. We’ve got a COVID Safe Plan in place (view it here), and we encourage everyone to keep up to date with the latest guidelines from Queensland Health.

Here’s a little more info to help put your mind at ease when visiting this weekend.

Solid Gold: Artists from Paradise
Closing weekend: Sat 3-Sun 4 July

A love letter to the Gold Coast, SOLID GOLD has inspired over 48,000 visitors since opening and now we’ve reached its final weekend.

It’s free to visit but you’ll need to pre-book for this weekend in one of the available time slots. This is to help us maintain capacity, keep everyone COVID Safe, and have the appropriate plans in place for your visit. You can book your free tickets here  – don’t forget, you’ll need to wear a mask during your visit.

The works featured in the exhibition range from sculptures, ceramics, paintings, photography to immersive video and installations, indoors and out. Don’t miss out on this slice of Gold Coast history.

Paul Kelly with his band, on the road again
Sat 3 July

It’s no surprise that this concert is sold out – Paul Kelly is one of Australia’s greatest performers and songwriters, with a prolific 25 studio albums, multiple film soundtracks, and two live albums to his name.

As this is a sold out event, there’s a bit of extra info you should know. If you’ve got tickets to this event, we’ll email you information to prepare you for your visit; or you can download the details here.

Here’s a few things to remember:

  • Check your tickets before you arrive – If you’re seated in the middle of the theatre (18-33), arrive between 6.45-7pm. All other seat numbers are encouraged to arrive from 7pm.
  • Follow directions from signage and HOTA staff to direct you to the correct entrance.
  • You’ll need to keep your mask on throughout the entire performance.
  • You should send one representative from your group to collect drinks during the interval.

HOTA Cinema
Open daily

This weekend, we’re presenting multiple screenings of Dream Horse (PG), In The Heights (PG) and Buckley’s Chance. The cinemas are popular on weekends – if you’re joining us, please make sure you pre-book.

Bundall Farmers’ Markets
Sun 4 July

Sundays are a hive of activity with the ever-popular Farmers’ Markets. Follow any guidelines as directed by Queensland Health, and reach out the market operators if you have any questions.
