Show your love for local artists

We’ve just launched our community fundraising campaign and this year we are aiming to raise $50,000 to support the development of HOTA homegrown initiatives for 2020.

You can’t be a home for art without artists. And we’re committed to supporting our homegrown artists and creatives. To do this we’re sharing our home with local artists and providing opportunities for collaboration, creation, mentorship and shared ideas.

Some of the ways we support homegrown artists and creatives include:

Collaboration – we’ve joined forces with Gold Coast Film Festival, Bleached Arts, The Farm and The Walls to offer the freedom, space and time for local creatives to learn from the amazing national and international artists who visit us.

Commissions – we have dedicated spaces for artist commissions where local artists are invited to create site-specific, temporary artwork and to extend their own practice (and gain exposure on a big scale at here at HOTA.)

Workshops – our workshops provide employment opportunities for local professional artists

Community – More than 80 Gold Coasters make up HOTA Choir who rehearse and perform contemporary vocal arrangements in a fun and informal environment.

Funding and support – the HOTA Creative Development Program provides funding and in-kind support for arts company’s and individual artists developing a body of work here on the Gold Coast.

Artist Pass – a free membership program for local artists, providing opportunities for professionals and student artists to engage with art and other artists, and make coming to HOTA more affordable.

If you’re reading this then we assume you love the arts! If you’d like to donate to a program that really makes a difference to local artists, then you can see all the details here. We’re a not-for-profit so every donation makes a difference.

We believe that art changes lives. And when people like you support us, we can make great things happen.
