Bendigo Bank and HOTA bringing families together at the new HOTA Gallery
During the HOTA Gallery’s first weekend, we saw hundreds of families step through the doors of our new dedicated Children’s Gallery.
Our Children’s Gallery is where children can begin their art journey, and where play and hands on experiences are encouraged.
The first ever exhibition in the space is called World Upside Down – a hyperreal land of wonder where natural habitats are not what they seem, and a refuge to play, think, care and make.
Thanks to the help of our Exhibition Major Partner, Bendigo Bank Community Bank, Paradise Point and Ormeau, World Upside Down, will be on at HOTA Gallery for 22 weeks, until Sun 10 October.
Bendigo have collaborated with HOTA for many years, including supporting other family friendly events like GLOW and Kids Take Over. So it’s the perfect fit that they’ve joined us for this next phase of HOTA as we open the new Gallery, as our first ever major Exhibition Partner.
And not only can kids interact with the art in the exhibition, but they can get hands on and create their own bird box, flying creatures, and paper leaf boats. (The Children’s Gallery is the space where touching the art is encouraged!)
The Children’s Gallery, located on the Ground Level of the new HOTA Gallery is open 7 days a week and is free to visit. Make a day of it, and stop by the playground; grab a bite to eat at the HOTA Café or have a picnic by the lake; participate in one of our events like ArtLab, our regular workshops for kids, our new monthly story hours, and see a show or performance in one of our theatres.
