About This Project:

Complete your own mini storybook, all about the Gold Coast.

Illustrator Eric Koo will create an interactive colouring book, where you can colour, imagine worlds, and include your own drawings – maybe you’ll add your family, pets, and friends (real or imaginary), use ideas from memories or dreams. What do you remember from the last time you went to the beach?

Compare your ‘snapshots’ with your sisters, brothers, housemates or parents (yes – parents can do their own colouring in too!). Do you remember the same things? How does everyone in your household remember the same experience?

Once you’ve finished your colouring book, you’ll have your ‘Snapshots from Surfers’, a chance to share your work with someone dear about the lucky place you live in.

About the Artist:

Eric describes himself as just an uninvited passenger on planet Earth… born accidentally on the island of Mauritius, Eric studied fine art at the École Nationale des Beaux Arts de Lyon (France), cartooning at the renowned École Nationale de Bande-dessinée d’Angoulême.

He worked as an illustrator and art director in advertising and as a political cartoonist for L’Express, and was the co-founder of Autopsie magazine with Jef d’Argent. His work has been exhibited in France, Mauritius and Australia. He was the winner of the 2007 Gold Coast Art & Design prize, has published seven books and lives and works on the Gold Coast.
