At HOTA, students experience the arts through immersive and exciting learning experiences where their ideas are encouraged and valued. Our inquiry-based approach provokes curiosity, inspires the imagination, and opens doors to new ways of thinking about the world.
Programs are supported by experienced educators and are tailored to specific year levels and aligned with Australian Curriculum frameworks and subject areas. Our program provides for learners from Prep to Further and Higher Education, across schools, colleges, TAFE, universities and flexible learning sites.

A poignantly revealing depiction of the sibling relationship between Kayah, a young man with Down Syndrome and his sister Maitreyah. Expressed through dance, theatre and storytelling Glass Child puts a microscope on their love and how their lives have been affected by other people’s perceptions. It questions how the rest of us behave when we find the difference we inevitably look for and asks us to examine why we search for difference when we share so much in common.

What is the price of internet fame? Inspired by a number of true events, Viral is a story about Art and Zane, two boys who seek to attain online celebrity in order to become more popular at school (and make some money). But what lengths will they go to, and what lines are they willing to cross? Created here on the Gold Coast, produced internationally and now embarking on a statewide tour, Viral is a powerful investigation of social responsibility in a world of changing technology.
