Queensland Symphony Orchestra will perform a selection of popular works from Australia’s favourite composer, Ludwig van Beethoven, in celebration of his 250th birthday. Leading the Orchestra will be conductor and violinist Guy Braunstein, former concertmaster of the Berlin Philharmonic.
Guy will feature as violin soloist in Beethoven’s Violin Concerto, one of the most melodic and beloved works for violin and orchestra, bringing to the Gold Coast his experience as lead violinist of one of the world’s best orchestra.
The concert opens with the Coriolan Overture, followed by the Romance op.50 showcasing soloist Alison Mitchell, Principal Flute with Queensland Symphony Orchestra.
Beethoven’s imaginative and ground-breaking Symphony No.8 showcases the outstanding musicians of Queensland Symphony Orchestra in many exciting passages and a thrilling finale.
