Sweet Thunder Jazz Orchestra traces the development of the big band from the 1920s to the present day. Their repertoire includes works by Ellington and Morton, and performances of the music of the great bands and their arrangers, such as Count Basie, Benny Goodman, Fletcher Henderson, Thad Jones and Neal Hefti. It also features some of today’s masters, such as John Clayton and Gordon Goodwin.
This polished and energetic 13 piece orchestra comprises 3 trumpets, 3 trombones, 4 saxes plus piano, bass, drums and vocals.
The repertoire includes ‘Cotton Club Stomp’, ‘Black and Tan Fantasy’, ‘Don’t Be That Way’, ‘One O’Clock Jump’, King Porter Stomp’ and many more.
