Deborah Conway has been a musician for 40 years, during these decades she has played a countless number of live shows from stadiums to lounge rooms; she has recorded a lot of songs, some of which have raised eyebrows, some of which have been played on radio; and she has produced records, shows, tours & festivals. Conway met Willy Zygier in 1991 and together they have released 10 albums. Conway & Zygier together produced four iterations of the national concert series “Broad” the all female singer/songwriter review 2005 – 2008, Conway took on the role of Artistic Director for the Queensland Music Festival 2009 – 2011 and in 2014 they established The Melbourne Shir Madness Jewish Music Festival as the Festival Director & Artistic Director presiding over two very successful iterations in 2015 & 2017.
In 2016 Conway & Zygier’s 1993 single Alive & Brilliant, was inducted into the National Film & Sound Archive; also in 2016 Conway was named a Living Legend both by the Leaps & Bounds Festival and Rolling Stone Magazine & in 2019 Conway was made a National Living Legend by the National Live Music Awards. In 2020 Conway was made an AM in the Australia Day Honours and received the Don Banks Award from the Australia Council.
