Jessica Mauboy

Our headliner needs no introduction… She’s Australia’s exceptional entertainer, a national darling and one of the country’s hottest creative exports and above all that; Jessica Mauboy is a singer songwriter with the talent to take a tune to the top of the charts. Jessica comes to HOTA fresh off the release of her fourth studio album, HILDA, which just debuted at #1 no less. To top it all off, she’s earned not one, but two ARIA nominations, for Best Female Artist and Best Video (Little Things). Don’t miss seeing Jessica take over our Outdoor Stage in one of our final concerts for the year.

Archie Roach

No one has lived as many lives as Archie Roach – from stolen child, teenage alcoholic, seeker, lover, father, musical and lyrical genius, to social advocate and First Nations leader – but it took almost a lifetime to find who he really was.

2019 has been a significant year for Archie, having been awarded the 2020 Victoria Australian of the Year and releasing both a memoir and companion album, Tell Me Why, which earned him his very first Top Ten debut on the ARIA charts.

Archie plays our famous Outdoor Stage before performing at the iconic Woodford Folk Festival later this year.

Mojo Juju

Following an explosive year and the release of her third solo album Native Tongue, Mojo brings her signature blend of soul, RnB, blues and hip-hop to our Outdoor Stage for the very first time.

With a deeply personal album that explores her mother’s Indigenous heritage, her father’s experience as a Filipino immigrant and her own place within modern Australian culture, her performance will take you on a whirlwind of self-discovery and identity.

Releasing his first self-produced singles in 2019, 15 year old Dharawal singer/songwriter Aodhan was honoured to win JJJ’s Unearthed High Indigenous Initiative with his coastal folk flavoured ‘When Your Eyes Speak’. Taking influence from a huge range of writers, genres, and eras in music Aodhan fuses heartfelt writing with soulful musicality.

Selve are a psychedelic art rock band based out of the Gold Coast and Brisbane. The band is formed of Indigenous lead singer/songwriter Loki Liddle and lead musical composer Harry Edwards (Elder Children). Together they create narrative driven alternative music inspired by the likes of Foals, Nick Cave and Tame Impala.

Making waves in the Australian electronic bass music scene, Brisbane-based Indigenous artist HVWKS is truly paving his own way through this ecosystem with a unique sound ranging from melodic future bass to heavy hitting trap beats.

Steph Tisdell

After sold-out shows at Sydney Comedy Festival and Melbourne International Comedy Festival, a co-hosting gig on Triple J Breakfast during NAIDOC week and regular appearances on The Project, Steph is one of Australia’s most in-demand comedians performing today.

With a magnetic personality and quirky stage presence that skips between gleefully playful to biting political satire, Steph’s comedy is vulnerable, real and insightful. You won’t want to miss Deadly Hearts on Sat 14 Dec.
