Basement LIVE | Harry J Hart

Following the release of his single “Make it Easy” earlier this year, young rocker Harry J Hart returns to us with another absolute banger in “Who We Are”. With heavy guitar licks, bold vocals and powerful hooks Harry brings together one of his tightest singles yet, in a sign of big things to come with his well-crafted debut EP.

Recorded at Head Atlas Studio, based at Hunting Ground Studio in Moorooka, the help of RVLR’s frontman, Joel Myles as producer (Jack Bratt) and Paul Blakey (Amy Shark, Casey Barnes, Tia Gostelow, Ivey, Beddy Ray) on mastering. The song was “based around the idea of watching a relationship breakdown, wondering how it had all come to this point and the inevitability of where this relationship was headed,” Harry says.

Harry first grabbed the public’s attention when he was only 14 being listed as a Gold Coast Musician to watch, alongside Amy Shark. By the time he was 17, Harry J Hart had already travelled to Berklee College of Music in Boston to further his guitar studies, hit #1 on Triple J Unearthed’s charts, was a Queensland Music Awards finalist, and was named Bluesfest Busking Competition’s Best Guitarist. Harry has also played Bluesfest in 2018 and 2019, attended a second Summer semester at Berklee, and travelled to Los Angeles to train under Tom Morello (Rage Against the Machine), Nuno Betterncourt (Extreme), Bibi McGill (Beyonce & Pink) and other guitar legends.

Harry’s talent flows directly into his music, having a five-octave vocal range and a wealth of guitar experience. Harry’s sound is a sonic melting pot, drawing on influences that span genres and decades and with Harry still being so incredibly young his sound only continues to evolve. Combining all the best of his talents and putting them together to deliver one of his tightest releases yet in “Who We Are”, Harry J Hart only further excites us for his EP that seeks to give urgency to rock’s reimagined sound and resurgence.
