EDUCATION TOURS
HOTA Gallery educators will provide talks and tours relating to the current exhibition program and in response to works from the HOTA Collection.
Each of the HOTA Gallery spaces has a maximum capacity, and as such large groups will be broken into smaller groups to accommodate this requirement. Please follow instructions from HOTA staff during your visit.

RESPONDING AND MAKING SESSIONS
Using the current exhibition as stimulus, you’ll be able to join us to develop critical thinking and knowledge, understanding and skills for creativity in one of our Responding and Making sessions.
Students will experience our exhibitions, share ideas, and communicate their observations through making their own artworks as artists and audience. Facilitated by a collection artist, contemporary artist, or experienced art educator.
All workshop materials provided.
Tickets $15 (per student, 90 minute session)

PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT
Our Professional Development programs will be based upon the Australian Professional Standards for Teachers and delivered by collection and contemporary artists and experienced educators.
In 2021 we will present Cross-curriculum Priorities:

TEACHER PREVIEW EVENINGS
You will be able to join us at one of our teacher preview evenings in the Gallery to experience the headliner and temporary exhibitions and to learn more on the education program provided for each. Our preview evenings will be held on Tuesdays between 4 and 5pm.

HOTA GALLERY I GALLERY 4 I FREE
For more than 30 years, Energies has provided a platform for local senior secondary visual art students to exhibit their work in a professional gallery setting. Energies alumni boasts acclaimed contemporary artists Michael Candy, Abbey McCulloch, Rebecca Ross and Michael Zavros, all of whom are having their work featured in the inaugural Gallery hang.
Presented in partnership with Gold Coast Visual Arts educators and in consultation with our HOTA Gallery and Visual Arts Education Reference Group art work is selected from Gold Coast students based upon individual merit and skill.
Energies showcases exemplary student work, best practice for teaching, and supports career pathways and further study into the arts.
The next iteration of Energies will take place over nine weeks 18 September – 21 November 2021 and we are so excited to welcome the next crop of emerging artists centre stage in our new HOTA Gallery.
