Rainbow Story Hour

Imaginative and immersive fun for little readers

Little ones are invited to settle back and listen to a story read by a member of our LGBTQIA+ community. HOTA’s Rainbow Story Hour program champions body positivity and role models in all different shapes, sizes and diversities, and encourages the imagination and play of childhood.

Featuring artists, singers, and creatives of all genre, Rainbow Story Hour is a fun way for kids to connect with their imagination, meet friends, and explore vivid realms.

Fri 21 May: Samuel Leighton-Dore

A writer and multidisciplinary artist based on the Gold Coast, Samuel Leighton-Dore produces works spanning ceramics, LED neon, illustration, animation, and painting. His special interest in mental health and masculinity has driven his artwork to find cheekily creative avenues to address the complex, multifaceted issues prevalent in Australian society.

Fri 18 June: Teigan Le Plastrier

Frontwoman for all-female punk group, Being Jane Lane, Teigan is a bold, warm community hero. With fiery vocals and charging moves, Teigan can move crowds and part seas with the power of pure rocking punk.

It is incredibly important to us that you have a safe experience when you come to HOTA. We have a COVID Safe plan and there are some new conditions of entry which you should read before purchasing a ticket or attending an event at HOTA.
