Comedy Underground Podcast
During lockdown, Based Comedy was on standby, waiting for the chance to rip the face masks off. While quarantined and out of work, they were itching for an audience.
The Comedy Underground Podcast is an outlet in the form of a comedy podcast and video series where the comics from all over Australia and the world who make the Gold Coast a destination on their touring schedule join Josh (former morning radio host and current producer) and Dalton (comedian) while they are quarantined in the Basement.
Have a listen to the podcasts below, and while the face masks are still nearby, Based Comedy are now bringing you a chance to see comedians in real life every Saturday night in the HOTA Basement, as part of Comedy Underground Saturday Showcase.
Please note, the Comedy Underground Podcast contains strong language and is recommended for mature audiences
About the company:
Based Comedy produces a number of comedy shows on the Gold Coast – well, we did until a few weeks ago. In the meantime we are using our comedic powers to dig in with some of the artists who WOULD have been joining us for our Friday Night Comedy Underground shows at The Basement at HOTA, Home of the Arts.
About the artists:
Josh Armstrong: Josh is a producer of live stand up through Based Comedy and GC Laughs, but he’s also a former radio host so he gets to run the podcast.
Dalton Whiskey: Dalton Whiskey is one of the Gold Coast’s best young comedic talents – 2017 runner up for the QLD RAW Final, support act for names like Doug Stanhope, working with comedians like Danny Bhoy, Matt Okine and Demi Lardner, featured on Galas and with a sold-out first hour at Bris Funny Fest 2019. A regular host and feature act around Queensland and seen on stages all over the country, Dalton’s self-deprecating, insightful, laugh-a-minute brand of comedy is infectious.
