Flickerfest 2018

HOTA presents Flickerfest 2018

Celebrating 27 years in 2018 Flickerfest remains Australia’s leading Academy® Accredited and BAFTA recognised short film festival.

The Flickerfest National Tour will be returning to HOTA, showcasing the Best of Australian Shorts programme on Thursday 15th March at 6.30pm. The Flickerfest programme presents a selection of entertaining, inspiring and award-winning films hand-picked from the festival’s 2,500 entries, including two short films from local Gold Coast filmmakers as part of this years program.

Patty Lovesick – a charming story about a guy who is allergic to his girlfriend! Directed by Gold Coast-born James Fitchett

Mother, Child – a heartfelt story by Gold Coast-raised director Tin Pang. Based on the actual life events of the director, the film is about a mother and son who are reacquainted and forced to live together after the mother has a stroke. Lawrence Leung (Maximum Choppage, Newton’s Law, Offspring) plays the son in a somewhat more serious role than his usual comedic offerings.
