As contact tracing remain part of our lives, we’re using the Queensland Government’s Check In Qld app at HOTA.

What is Check In Qld?

The Check In Qld app has been developed by the Queensland Government to provide a contactless and convenient way for people to check in at Queensland venues and events by scanning a QR code.

If required, this information can be used by Queensland Health to help with faster COVID-19 related contact tracing. You can read all about it here: www.covid19.qld.gov.au/check-in-qld

I already gave all our details when we booked tickets, will we all still need to sign in with the app?

Yes, although you may have given your details already, the app allows us to have one simple process. The data that was provided when booking will be deleted in line with our previous policy. You still need to provide your details at the time of booking so that we can send any updates regarding your tickets.

Do I have to use the app when attending an event at HOTA?

No, this is a voluntary app but this is our preferred check in solution. You don’t have to use Check In Qld app to check in at HOTA – but if you choose not to then you must still register your details with us. Sharing your details with HOTA is a condition of entry and all guests must register to attend events and screenings at HOTA.

How do I download the app?

Does everyone in my group need to download the app?

Everyone who visits HOTA needs to register their contact details, including children and infants. If you attend with a group, only one person needs to have the app and they can check in multiple people at the same time.

What happens to my data?

Data gathered through the app is sored securely by the Queensland Government. HOTA does not receive any of your contact tracing data from the app. See www.covid19.qld.gov.au/check-in-qld for full details.

Why are you changing your track and trace process?

HOTA has a range of events and activities – from screenings and live theatre to free events in the parkland. On any one day we can be operating with three different processes to capture data but the new Check In Qld app helps us to streamline these into one easy process that is being used across Queensland and the Gold Coast.

Plus, if there is an outbreak, Queensland Health will have much quicker access to the data, enabling them to speed up their contact tracing processes.
