Senior Lighting Technician

This is an exciting 6-month fixed term contract (part time-3 days per week) for an experienced and skilled Lighting Technician.

The Technical Department is an in-house team delivering full facilities for traditional style theatre productions, corporate functions, outdoor productions & events across a range of versatile venues. The Department is responsible for ensuring the day-to-day technical operations of the precinct are delivered at the highest level and to industry standard.

The department will also provide a level of shared services to the HOTA Gallery; a AAA rated gallery designed to present art indoors and out, making HOTA a must-see cultural destination.

We are looking for a Senior Lighting Technician with sound operator and leadership capabilities to support the HOTA Technical department.

All Technicians are expected to deliver services in a professional, safe and efficient manner whilst always supporting a cohesive team environment.

Exhibitions Officer

The HOTA Gallery and Visual Arts Team lead the development and management of the Gallery, City Art Collection and accompanying exhibitions, public and education program and visual art in the outdoors. They collaborate with all areas of the HOTA organisation and are responsible for presenting the visual arts programming for the artistic direction of HOTA. The team currently consists of 14 FTE positions and several casual staff all under the leadership of the Director, Gallery & Visual Arts.

A new purpose-built $60.5 million HOTA Gallery is due to be completed in early 2021, it will be the largest public Gallery outside a capital city in Australia with the ability and ambition to present exhibitions and projects of national and international scale that focus on art and design, both indoors and out.

The Exhibitions Officer will be a key member of the team assisting to deliver an exciting and diverse program for the HOTA Gallery. The Exhibitions Officer will assist with the development, installation and maintenance of exhibitions and displays for the Gallery. The position is supported by and receives direction from the Exhibitions Project Manager.

A significant part of this position will involve liaising with both internal and external stakeholders and the Exhibitions Officer will have the opportunity to work autonomously and make adjustments and suggest improvements to the way we work.

Senior Venue Technicians are engaged to deliver a range of technical and event operations to meet the needs of a multi-purpose precinct.

All Technicians are expected to deliver these services in a professional, safe and efficient manner whilst always supporting a cohesive team environment.
