Buying Tickets FAQ

How can I buy tickets?

You can buy tickets for HOTA events by phone, online (from the event page on this website) or in person from our Box Office.

How do I get my tickets?

When booking you can choose to have your tickets:
  • emailed for you to print at home (or if you don’t want to print them you can show your tickets on your phone to be scanned at the event)
  • mailed to you via Australia Post standard (regular) mail
  • kept at our Box Office for you to collect
Our Box Office is located in the foyer at HOTA Central, near our main entrance. The Box Office is open from 9am to 7.30pm Mon-Sat and 10am to 7.30pm on Sunday. If you have chosen to collect your tickets from the Box Office you can collect them within 24 hours of purchase during opening hours or before the performance.

Can I choose my seat?

When purchasing online for most events you will be offered the next best seating available, which you do not have to accept if it does not suit you. To choose specific seating you can call us on 07 5588 4000 between 9am and 7.30pm Mon-Sat or 10am – 7.30pm on Sun and they can give you a few different seating options depending on availability. Can my child come to a performance?

Generally children aged three years and younger who are able to sit on their parent or guardian lap do not require a ticket.
Admission and attendance at events and festivals designed for children may be subject to additional conditions of sale and entry. These conditions will be published on the dedicated web page for the event.
All persons under 16 must be accompanied by an adult whilst at the Venue. This includes all bar areas and dining rooms where alcohol is served. Proof of age may be required by the Venue.

I purchased tickets for an event and that event has been cancelled or postponed, what happens now?

Unfortunately this does happen, though only very occasionally. Should your performance be cancelled or postponed, HOTA will contact you to advise of the procedure.

Can I purchase tickets from another ticketing company other than HOTA?

Any tickets sold through unauthorised sales channels may be seized or cancelled without refund or exchange and the bearer of the ticket may be denied admission.

Unauthorised sales channels include Viagogo, eBay and Gumtree.

Any ticket purchase through an unapproved provider is made entirely at the purchaser’s own risk.
